SERVICE COMMENTS REQUESTED BLACK GOLD SALVAGE PROJECT LIBBY RANGER DISTRICT POREST SEAV FOREST SE U S U S AG The Libby Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest would like your comments and suggestions on the proposed Black Gold Salvage project. The district is proposing to treat approximately 213 acres of fire-killed trees in a small area of the Gold Hill Fire that burned as part of the suppression effort. Proposed salvage would occur within stands dominated by lodgepole pine, primarily contributing to a supply of post and pole m terials for a local market. This area is located approximately 15 miles north of Libby, Montana in the Schafer Creek drainage which is tributary to Pipe Creek.
