PUBLIC NOTICE CITY SNOW REMOVAL AND STREET OBSTRUCTIONS With old man winter starting to visit, the city reminds everyone of City Ordinances that allow our city crews to operate safely in keeping our streets open and clear of snow. City Ordinance 10.88.010 - Parking restrictions are in effect from November 1 to March 30th, prohibiting parking on North/South streets such as Main Avenue or Utah Avenue from 4am to 8am. Parking on East/West streets, such as 5th Street or Larch Street is prohibited from 8am and noon. Vehicles parked on streets during restricted times may be towed without notice, at the owner's expense and may receive up to the maximum fine of $100. In the downtown business district, the following streets are closed to parking from 2:20am and 6am. Vehicles parked on those streets at those times may be towed without notice at the owner's expense and may receive up to the maximum fine of $100. Mineral Avenue from First Street to Tenth Street. Louisiana Avenue from Second Street to Tenth Street. Montana Avenue from First Street to Tenth Street. California Avenue from Ninth Street to Tenth Street. Main Avenue from Second Street to Tenth Street. Idaho Avenue from Second Street to Tenth Street. Second Street from Louisiana Avenue to Idaho Avenue. Third Street from Louisiana Avenue to Idaho Avenue. Fourth Street from Louisiana Avenue to Idaho Avenue. Fifth Street from Louisiana Avenue to Idaho Avenue. Sixth Street from Louisiana Avenue to Idaho Avenue. Lincoln Boulevard from Louisiana Avenue to Idaho Avenue. Eighth Street from Montana Avenue to Idaho Avenue. Tenth Street from Louisiana Avenue to Idaho Avenue. City Ordinance 12.24.060 makes it unlawful to obstruct any street, alley, or other public grounds in the city. This means that all items, such as basketball hoops, must be removed to allow our city crews to operate safely to keep our streets open and clear of snow. The placement of snow into a city street by a person is considered an obstruction. The penalty for violation of City Ordinance 12.24.060 is not more than $300 for the first infraction and $500 for repeat infractions. Please, the city is asking that everyone help in keeping our streets open, SAFELY, this winter by not interfering with our plowing operations.
