The State of Montana Natural Resource Damage Program (NRDP) is preparing an interim restoration plan for the natural resources injured by Operable Unit 3 (OU3; the mine site) of the Libby Asbestos Superfund Site. NRDP is seeking public input from interested individuals and entities on the preparation of the interim restoration plan, including allocation of $2-4 million to early restoration projects, and scoping the issues that may be associated with implementation of any proposed early restoration projects. NRDP has prepared a memorandum that summarizes the purpose and scope of the interim restoration plan, identifies preliminary early restoration project goals, and describes how the public can participate.
